How long have you worked at the company?

I have been working at AW Labor for almost 11 months.

What is your job title? In one sentence describe what your job entails.

I am the Recruitment and Logistics Manager at AW, and my primary role is to oversee and support AW Labor Clients and TN visa Candidates on the TN operations services including recruitment, interviews, document translations, and travel logistics to the consulate and to the U.S. once the TN visa is received.

What do you like doing outside of work?

Outside of work I love watching TV with my loved ones, going to concerts, dancing, and taking my dog for hikes.

Are you currently binge-watching any shows?

I was watching The Last of Us but now that it is over, please feel free to send me any recommendations so I don’t have to be browsing for hours.

What is your favorite song and why?

I don’t think I have a favorite song. I consider myself someone who can enjoy different genres depending on my mood, but my favorites are alternative rock, pop-punk, and reggaeton. However, I do enjoy hearing my childhood favorite songs in English and now being able to understand them.

What is one thing that not many people know about you?

Before coming to the U.S. in 2013, I was about to graduate from a three-year program of contemporary dance and ballet at El Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes in Mexico City, which’s name translates to the National Institute of Fine Arts.

What motivates you to get up and come to work?

Working at AW Labor is an amazing daily experience. I am surrounded by people that inspire me, enrich me, and help me to grow as an employee but also as a person. Growing up, I always wanted to work somewhere where I could help people and, in this role, I get to improve the U.S.-Mexico border threat narrative by issuing legal work visas to professional immigrants eager to work and solve labor shortage in the United States industries.

What is the best career lesson you’ve learned so far?

There are many things to learn in every industry and the best way to start learning and adapting is through teamwork and different departments’ collaboration. Do not hesitate to ask questions and do your own research for answers.

How would you go about simplifying a complex issue in order to explain it to a client or colleague?

I always explain things the way I wish someone had explained them to me. Therefore, I first try to explain the complex issue with simpler words providing many details and finishing with an example that applies to the clients’ or colleagues’ daily activities through similarities and metaphors. Finally, I ask them if they have any questions and motivate them to paraphrase what I just said to make sure they understood.

How long do you usually wait before asking for assistance on a project or a task? Give us an example of this.

I do not hesitate to ask for help. If I encounter a problem that I have never seen before, I first try to search for answers on my own, but then, if I know someone else may have the answer or could help me deliberate the best approach, I will immediately go ask for their support. For example, when clients or candidates have questions about the legal process, I always go directly to Farmer Law’s paralegals and attorneys to help me provide the best answer without giving legal advice.

What, in your opinion, are the key ingredients in guiding and maintaining successful business relationships?
